POPULAR instant noodle brand Wai Wai has come on board as the presenting sponsor of the Asian Hawkers Market, Delhi-NCR’s first-ever public food festival dedicated to Chinese, Japanese and South-East Asian cuisines, from October 23 to 25at the Select Citywalk, Saket.

Select Citywalk, Delhi-NCR’s busiest retail and dining destination, is the venue partner of the food fiesta and global information technology company HP is the co-sponsor and it will be present at the festival with its ever-popular selfie booths. As many as 26 multi-award-winning restaurants and one individual operator are participating in the Asian Hawkers Market. Popular bar PCO and its partner, the members-only club A Ta Maison, will run the exclusive liquor enclosure at the festival. Excise rules do not allow liquor to be served in non-designated areas at public events.

Sharing these updates with the media at Sampan, Suryaa’s rooftop Pan-Asian restaurant, the event organisers announced on Friday that at least 20 per cent of the food served at the festival will be gluten-free. The chefs from participating restaurants present at the briefing reiterated this commitment individually in response to a query from a representative of Gluten Free India.

“By becoming the first food festival to go partially gluten-free, we have ensured that no one is left out of this first-of-its-kind celebration of Japanese, Chinese and South-East Asian cuisine,” said Atul Sikand, one of the festival organisers, and founder-administrator of Facebook’s largest South Asian recipe sharing community, Sikandalous Cuisine.

Commenting on Wai Wai’s association with the event, Varun Chaudhary, Executive Director, CG Corp Global, makers of the popular instant noodles brand, said: “We at Wai Wai are delighted to be a part of the first Asian Hawkers Market. The concept is completely in sync with our brand of exploring the varied flavours of Asian cuisine. Through this forum we are treating food lovers with an innovative avatar of Wai Wai.”

Wai Wai will have a stall at the Asian Hawkers Market where it will for the first time showcase innovative and tasty ways to cook and serve its products. The food festival’s entertainment curator, Divij Kaul of Limn Entertainment, said the Asian Hawkers Market will feature 12 different genres of music, fun theme games, live graffiti artists and “one surprise act” on each day of the event.

Speaking at the media briefing, acclaimed food writer and restaurant blogger Sourish Bhattacharyya said, “With 25 of the best names in the Pan Asian cuisine circuit participating at our inaugural event, we are definitely excited about what Delhi foodies have in store for them. Covering a culinary journey from Tokyo to Bali, we have restaurants from Bercos to Yum Yum Cha, including dimsumbros, Mamagoto, Neung Roi and Royal China, offering their signature as well as out-of-menu

dishes at one venue. For the first time ever, we will see gourmet food served street style. And to have this all at the city’s busiest food and retail destination, Select Citywalk, Saket, is just perfect for those coming for a day of food, fun and shopping.”

The Potbelly Rooftop Cafe- Fascinating Food Ramble.

Food is the only constant thing that stays with you and never leaves.
And especially that authentic food which you eat at home because you belong to that particlar place and only your mom can nail those dishes. Well, I am a Bihari And the only time i have loved bihari food is when my mom made it. But recently i visited The Potbelly Rooftop Cafe and i must admit these guys stole my heart away.

Here is a review about this amazing place and then the photos of the dishes I had here.
ENJOY

REVIEW.
Visited this beautiful place recently and I am madly in love with it. First of all the ambiance is pretty good and there is a lot of space for customers to sit. There is a cute little place where you can enjoy the greenery and eat food, especially in winters. Now, the food.... I am a Bihari and i was really looking forward to eat some yummy bihari food with some twists. Their starters for instance were delicious. I had sandwiches, french fries, Baggia Basket, aloo lalu chop and phish phingers. Not even one dish deserves criticism ,each and every one of them were perfect. For main course i had litti chokha which is The authentic bihari dish and Khada Masala Chicken. Yes, Litti chokha did remind me of my nani's home and i felt so good after eating it. The khada chicken was amazing. My tummy was full but i still finished the whole chicken dish by myself. A must try.
Finally ordered the dessert of the day which was apple and cinnamon cake with vanilla icecream.
Also, we ordered one cold coffee and an oreo shake and both were up to the mark.
Honestly, Potbelly gave me more than i had expected and i will be taking my parents here too.

Pepper Tap- The app that does it all

A weekend is all about lying around doing nothing. But, *spoiler alert* you have to go and do grocery shopping. Well, this is like a story of every household and thus to rescue you from your misery we bring you Pepper Tap. An app that provides you with all types of grocery items like, fruits and vegetables, drinks and dairy, staple food and even beauty products, etc.

This app is found in play store or apple store and is very easy to download. The moment you open it you get a pop up message saying “20 percent off on your first shopping” and that immediately brings a smile on your face. Until and unless you make an app which is user friendly and easy to handle, a person will not enjoy using it and this is a plus point of pepper tap because it is very easy to use and has very clear instructions regarding how to order and all.

While ordering we didn’t face any problem at all. The items were clearly mentioned with their respective prices and quantities. The products are divided into categories which makes our work smoother. One thing that was a major highlight was how quirky the app looks. Various colors are seen and a clear picture of every product is available.

So, it was a lazy weekend and my mom and dad were not ready to get dressed and go out in this burning sun and that is when I suggested them to try pepper tap. As soon as dad started ordering my mom got all excited and took the phone with her and decided to shop by her own self. Mom loves grocery shopping and now she loves it more because she can sit in her room and order rather than going out and standing in long queues to buy things. Also, we got that 20% discount on our first order and the payment was done really easily.

Finally, our products arrived within few hours of placing the order and they came in red colored bags which were oh so cute. Everything was mentioned in the bill very clearly and so we did enjoy our first experience with Pepper Tap way too much. And now my mother has uploaded the app on her phone and will be doing all her shopping without anyone’s help… Dad, watch out!

I will definitely recommend everybody to use this app the next time you plan grocery shopping and trust me it will become your new best friend.

PIND BALLUCHI- An Incredible Food Voyage

Everybody loves Typical Authentic Indian Food. Until and unless you eat some delicious Indian Food you dont really feel complete. Indeed this is applicable to most of the Indians. Connaught Place is like a gorgeous hub for foodies to sit and enjoy the long roads and the atmosphere of the typical Delhi and its people and also eat some amazing food.
Hanging out with your friends and want to eat authentic indian food? Right here is the answer to all your queries i.e. Pind Balluchi. A very famous place which is situated in the heart of CP.

Below is my review regarding the recent visit here.

Let me begin with its decor first. So, a beautiful sight from the beginning itself. As the name suggests, pind is a village in punjab and the decor has justified the name.. Exquisite mannequins looking so real and having that farmer- villager touch in their clothes. A huge tree in the centre of the restaurant with 'Dholak' and 'Monkeys' hung on it. It was so pleasing to the eye. The few negetive points were that they had some old fashioned techniques like, huge standing fans, plugs coming out of the switch board and the switch board coming out of the wall, etc.

FAVORITE PART AMONG ALL THE DECORATIONS

Let's come to the Food now.

We ordered :-

1. KADHAI PANEER Rs260
2. MURG KADHAI Rs275
3. SUBZ BIRYANI WITH RAITA Rs250
4. ONE BUTTER NAAN Rs50
5. ONE LACHA PARANTHA Rs50

One has always heard people saying that Pind Balluchi serves one of the best non-vegetarian dishes, so we indulged into their Kadhai Murg and indeed we fell in love with it. With the correct spices and that Indian touch, it was just perfect. With all the delicious veggies inside it like onions and capsicums the dish just got better and better. The chichen pieces were soft and juicy and we could actually feel the gravy even inside the deep corners of the chicken pieces. This exceptionally good taste of this dish gets 5/5.

Usually if you are a non-vegetarian food lover you tend to eat all the non-veg food and disregard or ignore the vegetarian dish. But let me warn you that here you may actually do the opposite. This delectable dish i.e. Kadhai Paneer will woo your heart as you take the first bite only. Soft and tender Paneer pieces and yummy gravy just makes you want more. Really loved it. Full marks for this one too.

KADHAI MURG

KADHAI PANEER

The Laccha Paranthas were yummy and were soft even after keeping it for 10-15 minutes. Butter Naan was a little crispy and it should actually be soft and easily chewable.

The Subz Biryani was not something we had expected it to be. It was more of a homemade fried rice/mixed pulao kind. The taste was pale and we had to add a little salt to it. We felt it was not the biryani that one expects from Pind Balluchi. A little gravy and a little more spice would really enhance its flavours and bring out the real biryani taste which was missing.

When you eat Indian Food you've got to make a mess in your plate.

WELL, the service was a little slow and that too when there was rarely anyone in the restaurant. Slowly the crowd increased and the waiters were quickly taking up tables and greeting people cheerfully. As a customer we loved the service and would really want to go back and try more of their dishes and recommend to other people as well. One can go here with family or friends or on a date and you wont be disappointed for sure.

XOXO
