From spotting the latest trends, to understanding the intricacies of the industry, the event gave many choices to the bloggers. OUR EXPERIENCE WITH DIMSUM & Co.

Dimsums and co. Has impressed me alot. Their food was delivered fresh and the packaging was clean and neat. And the service was quick. The quality and quantity was perfect. And the authenticity was commendable.

Coming to all that I had

Crystal veg and mushroom dimsums were oh so heavenly. They looked so cute and had such deliciousness in them. Perfectly balanced spices and flavors. Perfect option for the vegetarians. Highly recommended.

Chicken sui mai Dimsums and Old school dumpling were just amazing. They tasted so good and had some really brilliant flavors. The dimsums were juicy and gooey and very yum. I will definitely recommend both these dimsums. Still cant stop drooling.

Prawn har go dimsums were really good. I enjoyed the texture it had. And it tasted nice too. To all the prawn lovers, this one is a must try.

Filipino box and Bento Box

Both the meal boxes were ultimate. I especially loved the bento box because of its yummy taste. The noodles were so flavorful and light. And the gravy had so many fresh vegetables and had a really really nice taste.

The other box was good too.

These guys serve great pocket friendly food at your doorstep but the quality is as good as a high end restaurant.

Cha Bar, the capital’s most loved café presents Fruitomania

An all new refreshing summer menu

Cha Bar is the first of its kind urban contemporary space that created a rage in Kolkata in year 2000, turning tea from a dry page in history to a lifestyle drink! Ms Priti Paul’s brainchild backed by generations of Apeejay Surrendra Group’s experience in tea plantation business, Cha Bar was created as an integral part of more than 90 years old iconic Oxford Bookstore in city centre Park Street. The concept was expanded pan India integrated into Oxford Bookstores and customers loved the experience of being able to browse at leisure, leafing through the books of their choice, over a cup of tea from the wide selection available at the Cha Bar or simply unwinding with friends sipping the rejuvenating beverage, iced or piping hot!
Whether one prefers a rich, full-bodied, strong flavor, or a light fragrant taste, the Cha Bar offers a wide and enviable choice.

Cha Bar believes that there is indeed nothing quite like a good cup of tea so every cup of blend we serve has journeyed, be it from the dhabas in India or from across the Globe from other cultures. Today, Cha Bar offers this experience at Oxford Bookstores across multiple stores in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi.

GOING FILMY WITH BOLLYWOOD BISTRO

Located on the prime location of club road , bollywood biistro can be easily found . The place has a valet parking so we wasted no time in finding the parking space on this busy road.

As we entered we saw that the place has bollywood charisma all over. All the walls of the biistro is covered with some or the other filmi posters and one liners from bollywood like , ''kitne aadmi they?'' , ''mogambo khush hua'' and many more. The seating is nicely done with variant options from comfortable sofas to large chairs , also they have a separate area for fine dine.  They have a gorgeous bar with UA fim certificate on the bar wall.

The staff is very courteous and efficient and service is also quite well.

Coming to the drinks we ordered-

Virgin mojito , dead pool mocktail , pineapple sunshine mocktail and snicker bar shake .- All the drinks were great , virgin mojito was perfect in taste , pineapple sunshine and deal pool , wonderfully presented  but a bit sweet and the snicker bar shake tasted amazing.

In food we had-

Honey Chilli potato- crispy enough and enormously good in taste.

Crispy chicken in mayo- highly recommended ! This dish was fantastic, surely a perfect delight for our stomach, the chicken was perfectly cooked with amazing taste of mayo on top.

Spring rolls - came in a bicycle toy were decent in taste , good part was it wasn't oily at all.

Mom's delight pizza- veryyy cheesylicious! Yum'! But they need to work upon the base and more veggies need to be added in toppings.

Chicken tikka and paneer tikka - both the dishes were presented in a different way , the moment we saw them we couldn't control ourselves to taste them , both were perfect in taste, had great flavours and perfectly marinated . Again both the things are must try!

Sizzler - great in portion , can serve 3 at a time , the sauces were very tasty and the whole dish was delectable in taste.

We ended our meal on a sweet note with 2 sweet dishes -

Brownie with vanilla ice cream - classic combination with which we can never get bored of. The brownie was soft and moist .

Rabri with gulab jamun- ok, this was really a nice dessert, the fusion created is a must try and you'll end up ordering it more.

All in all BB is different for those who those who wants to enjoy delicious food with the pleasure of unique ambience , the place will be loved by the bollywood crazies. I'm definitely hopping there again soon.

REVIEW ON PHONEBOOTH CAFE *tring tring*

A new addition to our very own hudson lane is Phonebooth Cafe, a london styled cafe . The place is not that big however it packs a punch. The seating is nicely done covering the place completely. There are dial booths hung on the wall and also there is one private phonebooth area seating. The place has london street style aura all over.

A bit slow on the service part but that's okay if you get freshly prepared and delicious food.

In drinks we had-

Watermelon mojito- a very refreshing drink to beat the summer heat.

Mint and ginger mojito- this was great too , had perfect balance of sweet n sour .

Blueberry pie shake and red velvet shake - ahhh ! Soo delicious and droolworthy, i loved both of them and i am definitely going back for the shakes.

Coming to the food we had-

Veg nachos chaat- don't mix it up with the classic nachos chaat with baked cheese , this dish was something different which was suggested by owner himself . Each nacho chip was topped with generous amount of mayo and i loved the tangy flavour added in it . A must try!

Veg risotto- warm enough, perfectly cooked and was nonetheless amazing.

Spring roll- though were crispy enough and fine in taste but were lil oily for me.

Veg munchurian was decent in taste nothing spectacular.

Dragon kiss pizza- though their speciality , had different toppings but a lot of improvisation could be done .

Soya chaap- deliciously marinated , soo yummy , i savoured every bit of it. Highly recommended.

In desserts - we had this cake which was chocolicious and palatable in taste. Still Drooling over it!

So if you're looking for a place to catch up with friends to binge onto some droolworthy shakes and delicious food , phonebooth cafe is the place to go.

JAL- INDIANNESS OF ITS OWN

Our first ever Mumbai Blog is here. Team Missfoodiediaries welcomes Mumbai to the blog and well, we hope Mumbai welcomes us too with open arms.

We went to Jal, a brand new restaurant that has opened its gates in juhu.

Our new member, Priyanka has written the blog and covered this place. Spread some love and keep reading our blogs...

Newest fine dine restaurant is all ready to set fire in one of the plushest areas in the suburbs of Mumbai. Jal, a fine dine Awadhi cuisine restaurant, part of the Z luxury residencies in Juhu, has a soothing ambience with indoor seating as well as cozy outdoor seating, both AC, dim lighting with candles lit on tables and is perfectly set up with cushy chairs and couches.

There are hardly any restaurants in Mumbai which serve authentic Awadhi cuisine. But at Jal, they have a not-so-long menu consisting of some authentic Awadhi dishes.

Also, being in an area like Juhu, it is celebrity spotting. We came across many celebrities dining here.

The staff was very friendly and recommended their specialties to us.

We started with cocktails. We ordered a red wine sangria, which was oh-so-yummy! And a caramelized pineapple cocktail, which you will enjoy if you like really sweet drinks!

For starters we had –

Chandi Murg Tikka, which was boneless chicken breast pieces, marinated with cream, cheese and mild spices. It was not very spicy but looked delectable and tasted even better!

Galouti Kebabs were delightful. So soft they will melt in your mouth. It comes with a small base of roti topped with kebab. Delicious!

Kasundi Macchi Tikka was fresh Basa fish cooked in oven and marinated with honey and mustard! It was so heavenly and extremely soft. It is a must have if you are a fish fan!

Ajwaini Rataloo, which is a specialty at this place, is sweet potatoes marinated with spices and carom seeds. With a hint of ajwain and potatoes cooked to perfection, this dish was a total thumbs up!

Peshawari Paneer Tikka is authentic cottage cheese cooked in Peshawari spices. Highly recommended if you like paneer starters.

Soya bean and mutter ki shammi is soya, green peas and cottage cheese cooked on a  tawa. This was the best vegetarian started I had that night. Perfectly cooked with perfect blend of spices, it was so soft and totally delectable!

Their main course has a variety of Awadhi dishes which makes you wonder what should you order. Ask the staff for recommendations.

Burhani Pasliyan are slow cooked, ginger infused lamb chops, and these are juicy and luscious, elevated by thick and delicious gravy. The dish was rich in flavors and savory!
We ordered this with Bakarkhani, which is sour dough, made of whole-wheat flour. The bread was very soft and went well with the gravy.

We also ordered, Dum ka paneer which is cottage cheese in a pumpkin and tomato based gravy flavored with putli masala. We ordered this with Jeera rice and the combination was sheer delight!

We were so full after eating all this, because the quantity they give is quite good and filling.
But, as we all do, we obviously had that special place for desserts.
So we ordered their dessert of the day, which was a chocolate cake with butterscotch ice-cream. The cake was soft and gooey.

And we ordered their Zafrani Phirni. What do I say about this? Garnished with saffron and pistachios, this phirni was everything that I wanted. It was creamy, soft, and it would actually melt in your mouth. Not too sweet like they have it in most of the places. I would say, perfect!

We ended out meal with chocolate paan, which was served in the end with the bill.

A must visit if you are looking to spend a lavish time, fine-dining on authentic Awadhi and north Indian cuisine. The combination of a great ambience and amazing food makes Jal a truly unique experience.
