NEW MENU AT AKA RESTAURANT

We recently went to AKA and tried their new menu. It is an all-day casual dining experience located in Worli near Nehru Planetarium. It has an outdoor dining area as well. Inside there’s a long bar, bright interiors and colorful printed sofas. Also, you will find printed fabrics on the walls, which gave the restaurant a very vibrant but chic and elegant look.

AKA’s menu has a set of dishes where each dish is a version of European classic, Italian, Mediterranean and so on.

Since we went there for lunch we sat in their indoor cozy sitting area with dim lights and a chill environment.
Since it was lunchtime, it wasn’t very crowded.

We wanted to try their molecular cocktails so we ordered both the cocktails they had. Custom-made and The performer. Loved the smoky taste in the vodka based performer cocktails and the whiskey based custom-made both.

For starters we had, cheese balls and chicken wings. Both the dishes tasted as delicious as they looked. The tangy chicken wings were served with a cheesy sauce and salad. The cheesy sauce was delicious and tasted good with the wings.

We ordered two pizzas, chorizo and mascarpone pizza and four-cheese pizza. The pizzas were thin crust and the crust was crispy and tasted delicious. Spicy chorizo, a Spanish pork sausage and mascarpone, an Italian cream cheese complemented each other very well.
Four-cheese pizza on the other hand is made of Cheddar, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Ricotta and truffle-oil. The pizza does not have any gravy on the base, hence is a bit dry. And the taste of cheese gets stronger towards the edges. If you have that taste for cheese, you will love this pizza. So did we!

Then we ordered pasta, meatball pasta and penne pasta with white sauce.
Meatball pasta was a sheer delight with hand chopped lamb and tomato sauce in spaghetti pasta. Meatballs were juicy and soft. We loved every bit of it.
White sauce pasta with corn toppings was also scrummy. The white sauce was very creamy and was on point!

In desserts, we really enjoyed and indulged in the Ecuadorian chocolate slab, Chocolate Gianduja mousse that came with chocolate shell, white chocolate bits and chocolate sauce. We also tried their AKA tiramisu which came with coffee tuile. Coffee tuile was extremely scrumptious and tasted great when dipped in tiramisu. But tiramisu otherwise was disappointing.

All in all, it’s a great place to enjoy a casual evening with friends where you can relish appetizing European cuisine in a swanky and chic ambience. Their new menu looked great to us, and I’m sure you will enjoy it too!
